⚙️ How does it work?

Your task will be to create a dance presentation based on one of the themes for 2026 edition in the category you choose.

🦋 METAMORPHOSIS
🔥 POWER
🌑 SHADOW
🌬 FREEDOM
🌊 STILLNESS

You choose your level, then you choose a style, and then you choose a theme you want to show on stage. For example, you choose to present yourself in the Beginners Raqs Sharqi category. Next you have to choose one of the five themes and you interpret it in the language of Middle Eastern Dance in the Raqs Sharqi Style. If you will choose Folklore, you also choose one of the five themes and interpret it through the language of Egyptian or non-Egyptian Folklore. The same goes for each category and each style no matter the level.

And for those who want to go all out, we’ve prepared the Mahragan’s Crown category. These are as many as 3 presentations that will create a full picture of your artistic vision. Winners will be selected based on technique, originality and artistic interpretation (idea, image, acting).

Interpretation focus: emotional layers, contrast, intensity, subtle storytelling.

Expansion • Release • Joy • Flow • Limitless movement
Interpretation focus: spaciousness, traveling, openness, dynamic changes.

🌊 STILLNESS Control • Suspension • Minimalism • Precision • Awareness
Interpretation focus: pauses, breath, micro-movements, intention in simplicity.
